junk drawer

The technique of cross hatching to shade the background of the drawer and the objects was very time consuming. Overall, I think it turned out pretty well.

people in interior spaces

This assignment was very difficult for me. I have a very hard time drawing people and it made it even harder trying to fit those people into the spaces.

model in multi-view

The purpose of this project was to make three dimensional models by gathering inspiration from our cellphone/stick drawings. I think each of my models capture inspiration from the drawing but are still able to stand on their own.

These drawings took a lot of time and a lot of sharpies! I actually enjoyed them though because you couldn't mess them up. They ended up looking really good because of the high contrast between the black and white.

sketchbook assignment

Our assignment was to collect four to five leaves and draw them (negative space, blind contour, contour and shadows.) I found the shadow drawing to be the most difficult because its hard to make the leaves stand out on their own when there is so much dark contrast.

pure contour

The Julius Foust Building is probably the most complex building on the UNCG campus. All of the windows and arches made it very difficult to draw. I enjoyed sitting outside in the cool weather to do the assignment, except for the huge gusts of wind!
